One of the world's tiniest sharks, this speices is interesting in having
one dorsal fin. it has a very good developed light producing organs on its belly and sides, but barely any on its
back, giving this shark a glowing underside. The classifications of these photophores is thought to get rid of shadows,
making it hard for predators (like the swordfish) to see from under it. The first pygmy sharks were caught in 1908 off
Japan, but no other speicimens were found until the 1960s.
