SCIENTIFIC NAME -      Coniophanes imperialis

a tiny poisonous snake, Neelaps colonotus, inhabiting a small area of dunes and scrubland in coastal southwestern Australia. Seldom exceeding 11 inches (28 centimeters) in length, it is Australia's smallest poisonous snake. It is not considered dangerous.

The head is continuous with the moderately robust body. The scales are smooth and cream colored, with reddish-orange Western black stripped snake.
